FRANÇOIS RUFFIN ft LA HORDE

Released in 2019, Ma Marseillaise is a frontal punk-rock reimagining of the national anthem. With a spoken, almost dry vocal delivery, tense guitars, and a straightforward rhythm, the track embraces a raw aesthetic designed for immediate impact. Driven by the abrasive energy of the band La Horde, the words of François Ruffin fit into the tradition of protest rock and spoken word—more of a chanted manifesto than a song. The anthem becomes a living text, rewritten for today, stripped of all heritage-bound reverence and nostalgia.

In December 2024, the track was reactivated in a new form with Allons enfants, a pop-dance remix that shifts the song toward a collective and festive dynamic. Featuring a driving bassline, a fast-paced tempo, and an electronic groove, this version transforms the initial punk tension into a unifying pulse. At the crossroads of pop, spoken word, and the energy of a protest march, Allons enfants functions as a contemporary folk song, designed to circulate in the streets, on stage, in clubs, and across social media. The same lyrical core, two distinct musical approaches: one frontal and abrasive, the other rhythmic and rallying—both firmly rooted in a deliberate rock and popular culture.
