RAÜL REFREE

A Catalan outlier, prolific composer, and elusive producer, Raül Refree has established himself as a pivotal figure in film scoring. He is set to compose the original soundtrack for La Bola Negra, the upcoming feature film by Los Javis (Javier Calvo & Javier Ambrossi), announced at the Cannes Film Festival and scheduled for theatrical release in 2026.
 
A visionary producer, he is currently working alongside Guitarricadelafuente and is preparing to unveil Cru+es, a duo project with Niño de Elche. His vast portfolio includes collaborations with C. Tangana, Ricky Martin, and Gianna Nannini. He was the architect behind Rosalía’s debut album Los Ángeles, reimagined flamenco with Niño de Elche and Rocío Márquez, breathed new life into fado with Lina, and celebrated Asturian traditions with Rodrigo Cuevas. His collaboration with Sílvia Pérez Cruz resulted in the cult album Granada.

As a guitarist and composer, he has released acclaimed solo records (La Otra Mitad, El Espacio Entre) and collaborated with Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth), weaving a soundscape of organic guitar, electronic textures, and haunting silences.

A multi-award-winning artist (Latin Grammy, World Music Charts, Rockdelux, etc.), Raül Refree is the master craftsman behind the revival of Southern European traditional music.
